We recently had a new metal roof installed by Ilya and his company, I-roof. I must say, it was a very good experience from start to finish.Ilya first gave us a detailed presentation of his product and how the work would be done. He showed us photos and videos of previous jobs. He gave us his price and a timeline of when things would progress. We accepted and the work started on time despite the still unsettled early March weather.We had an experienced, hard-working three-man crew show up at the time when work was scheduled. They were professional and worked steadily through the duration of the job. We were pleased that the job proceeded straight-forward with no unforeseen events.The project was completed on time as promised. We found this to be a very good experience and well worth the expense. I hired Ilya to do metal roof on my lake cottage in red tile Spanish look.There are not many metal roofers and even fewer experienced and good ones.In short, Ilya and I Roof Alberta have been outstanding. He explained all options, pros and cons, costs involved and set realistic timelines (of course weather dependent).On my roof, he worked with his crew and did quite a bit of work himself. It is evident he takes pride in his work, provides excellent workmanship and does not cut corners or rush the job. There were a few sections of the roof that were rotted and he replaced the plywood - first talked to me and sent me pics. He also recommended more professional and leak proof solution for my chimney and different method and material for my very low pitched garage roof.I have tons of reno experience myself and have hired many professionals to do work for me before. I also do tons of research (mostly on the internet), plus check references and talk to people who had similar work done. I am also at the jobsite quite a bit, almost daily, and follow very closely what is being done and how. No issues with Ilya, he checked all the boxes for me.Lastly, metal roofs are great but they are also quite expensive. I had several quotes and I Roof Alberta was not the cheapest but definitely nowhere near the most expensive quote. I had contacted Ilya and his team in 2018 about having the roof of my house redone and the next day he came in, did the estimate, gave me a rough timeline of how long it would be to get the materials and have the job done.He and his crew had my house done in about 4 days. Which if I had to describe my own roof, it would be a contractors nightmare. But they got the job done, kept me in the loop along every stage of the job, and answered every question I had.This year, we had Ilya come back to finish off a small attached workshop we have.
